  • From Simple Homeschool, Little Kids with Big Worries. Lots of good advice here, but lacking the best advice—to pray and fight back with Scripture memory.
  • Confessions of a Flawed Editor from Chad Allen. Chad’s job as editor for Baker Books is different from my job as a freelance editor, but the desire to be perfect is the same for both of us. And as hard as I try, it just doesn’t happen.

From Books:

Most of my reading time this week was spent editing a really good but really long fiction book. I also read The Royal We from Anne’s Summer Reading Guide and enjoyed it. I’ve been reading through Christine Hoover’s book The Church Planting Wife and hope I remember this point in the coming months,

When we believe that we’re responsible for producing results, we don’t trust God to be God.

From My Bible:

He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:3

From Our House:

David and I had lunch together on Tuesday at a new place in town that puts cole slaw and fries on their sandwiches. We didn’t love the sandwiches, but it was a fun experience!

This was James’s last week of first grade! Since we’re moving next month, they were his last days with the amazing team at his school. We are going to miss them so much! We moved into summer mode, which means his therapist comes to the house each day for a few hours. We like to plan activities out of the house when she’s with us and one of James’s favorite summer activities is bowling! It’s fun to see him be able to do more on his own than he was able to do last summer. Like carry that heavy bowling ball!
